Live Tail

Live Tail shows retained logs for one or more streams in the active account.

Follow new logs

Open Live Tail and choose the streams you want to follow. New logs appear as Fluxtail polls every two seconds. Only one poll request runs at a time.

The new-log queue is bounded. Rendering speeds up when the queue grows so the view can catch up without keeping an unlimited browser backlog.

Load older logs

Scroll near the top of the table to load older records. Fluxtail does not fetch old pages merely because Live Tail opened. Newer and older cursors are independent.

Inspect an event

Select a row to inspect its message, timestamp, severity, service fields, host, labels, Kubernetes fields when present, and public log ID.

Verify a sender

Send a message containing a unique phrase, select the receiver’s stream, and search that phrase. A visible row proves the event was stored and is readable by the account.
